Michael Wilton, also known as The Whip, is an American musician with a net worth of $15 million. He is famous for his guitar-playing for progressive metal band Queensryche. Born in San Francisco in 1962, Wilton started playing the guitar when he was eight years old. He studied music at the Cornish Institute of Allied Arts and formed his band Cross+Fire with drummer Scott Rockenfield in 1980.
Later, Wilton, Eddie Jackson, and Chris DeGarmo re-named the band as The Mob and then as Queensryche, releasing their demo in 1983. Since then, Queensryche has released 13 studio albums, five live albums, and seven compilations. Their 1990 hit “Empire” went triple platinum, and their most popular single “Silent Lucidity” climbed to nine on the U.S. charts in 1990.
Wilton is an enthusiastic sports fan who enjoys playing football and basketball. He was part of an all-star youth baseball team that toured Europe. He is also an avid guitar collector and teamed up with several others to form Soulbender, releasing one album in 2002. Despite his success, Wilton continues to play with Queensryche today.
