Logan and his brother attended Barrington High School in Barrington, Bristol COuntry, Rhode Island. After that, he attended the University of Tennessee in Knoxville.

During his years in Tennessee, he wrote for the school newspaper, The Daily Beacon. He was an entertainment writer and covered the bar, music, and theater scene.
