This is the heart-warming moment a headstrong little seal pup returned to his human carers just minutes after being released into the wild.
Kroshik the Baltic seal was just a few days old when he was rescued by volunteers and spent his young life with his adoptive human family.
Once he had built up his strength, Kroshik was taken to Lake Ladoga, in north west Russia, to be reintroduced to the wild alongside another pup, Pasha.
While Pasha happily disappeared off into the chilly water, Kroshik turned around and returned to his carers after just 15 minutes.
Vyacheslav Alekseev, director of Friends of the Baltic Seal Foundation, said volunteers were surpised by the seal's behaviour.
Homecoming: Kroshik the seal pup, centre, was reintroduced into the wild in Russia
Back again: The seal, pictured in the water, returned to shore after just 15 minutes
He said: 'We got Kroshik when he was only 9 lbs.
'This is less than their weight at birth. To be honest, I still don't know how he managed to survive and reach people.'
He added that volunteers will try again to release Kroshik later this year.
Adorable: The little pup was seen crawling back up towards his carrier case, right
Back together: He stopped just inches from the human carers who raised him
